Welcome Home

Thornbridge East is a thriving neighborhood nestled between Keller and Colleyville in the heart of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Away from the clamor of planes, trains, and freeways, it's a peaceful place with elegant homes that are reasonably priced for the discerning homebuyer.

While tucked away from the sound of the city it's close enough to the conveniences of urban living. Thornbridge East is part of North Richland Hills; the third largest city in Tarrant County, trailing only Fort Worth and Arlington. The city has a highly educated population, which facilitates a high average household income. Average home values are stable, giving equity to a community that is diverse in both race and gender.

The board members and residents of Thornbridge East know our community is more than just a place to live – it’s a place to call home. Whether you’ve recently moved in, are a long-time resident, or are looking for the perfect place to move, we invite you to navigate through this website to learn more about our community. Thanks for stopping by!

History

Thornbridge East is one of the newer additions to the Thornbridge development conceived over thirty years ago by John Barfield, a well-known developer, and philanthropist in Northeast Tarrant County. Barfield left Louisiana in 1952 to begin work at Bell Helicopter in nearby City of Hurst earning $1.05 per hour. He and a partner began selling homes, earning $50.00 profit on each one.  Barfield recalled, “$15.00 would get you a realtor’s license, no experience, certification or training required”. Needless to say, that ended his tenure with Bell and began his venture into building homes and developing real estate property.

Thornbridge was 1,500 acres of farmland bought one partial at a time over the years mostly with a handshake. Local natives may recall when Precinct Line Road was a two-lane oiled dirt road with local attractions, Green Valley Raceway and Nine Acres Dance Hall.
